  • original poetry
  • four lines or less
  • community friendly
  • a small honorarium will be given for selected entries
  • submitted works will be selected by a community jury
  • submissions will be acknowledged on a plaque with the school or community name only
  • include your contact information (or contact information for parent/guardian if under 18)

Deadline for submissions: May 1, 2017

Submissions can be emailed to the project administrator: amatejko@telusplanet.net or handed in to any Meadows Community League board member.

LARKSPUR MULTIPURPOSE RINK HOURS

The main rink is now closed for the season. Increasing hours of daylight and position/angle of the sun in the late day have made it difficult to keep all sections of the ice frozen.

The snowbank rink is still open and will remain open as long as conditions allow.

Questions/concerns: contact@themeadowscommunity.ca or 587.520.0465

NOTE: We gently remind all residents that this is a community/volunteer-run rink, not operated by the City of Edmonton. It is exclusively operated by a dedicated (but small) corps of volunteers. If you would like to be part of this fantastic community asset, please contact us at contact@themeadowscommunity.ca.

Poetry Pathways In The Meadows Phase 1 Completed

logo_resizePhase 1 of this project is now completed in front of Father Michael Troy Jr High School with 20 poems chosen by a community jury and sandblasted onto the  sidewalks in the Wild Rose neighbourhood this summer, 2016.

This is a call to anyone living or working in The Meadows areas of Larkspur, Wildrose, Silverberry and Laurel to send us your original, unpublished, short (4 lines or less, untitled) uplifting poems. These chosen poems will be installed in the next two phases, in front of Velma E Baker Elementary School and Silverberry Playground.

You can drop off your poems at the Meadows Library, along with your contact email, or you can send them to the project administrator at amatejko@telusplanet.net

Imagine your words of inspiration, your little love letter to the world, inspiring people for decades  – a joyful, long-lasting legacy!

Submit soon and often!
